Reporting an error, please do

This site lives or dies on accuracy. If a bracket, rate or threshold looks wrong, tell us. It helps enormously if you can include:

  • The page (or the state and salary) where you saw it
  • The figure shown, and the figure you believe is correct
  • A link to the official source: the IRS or the state's revenue department

Corrections are prioritised over everything else.

Questions about the method

How a number is arrived at is explained on the about page, and what is excluded is listed in the disclaimer. If something still is not clear, ask. If you had to ask, the page probably needs rewriting.

Privacy requests

Data protection requests go to the same address. See the privacy policy for what we do and do not hold, which, for the calculator itself, is nothing.

What we cannot do: give you tax advice. We cannot review your personal situation, tell you what to put on your Form W-4, or advise on a financial decision. We are not tax advisers, accountants or attorneys, and answering that kind of question would be both unhelpful and irresponsible. For your own circumstances, please speak to a qualified professional.

We aim to reply within a few days. This is a small, independently run site, so please be patient.

Estimates only, not financial or tax advice. Figures use 2026 brackets and standard deductions and do not account for credits, local taxes, or pre-tax deductions like 401(k). Your actual paycheck depends on your Form W-4 and employer withholding. Verify against the IRS and your state before making decisions. Full disclaimer.
